Judicial Ombudsman cautions Supreme Court President over participation in Bar Association conference

|
Judicial Ombudsman Asher Kula made a rare comment to Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit. The remark was directed at Amit for his participation in the Israel Bar Association conference shortly before a High Court petition hearing filed by the association, following a complaint by the "Movement for Democracy and Governance" that alleged a severe conflict of interest - which was rejected by Kula. While the Ombudsman dismissed the petition, he nevertheless cautioned Amit: "Attention should be paid."
