In an interview with Jordan's Al-Mamlaka TV, Bakr Awada, number 4 on the Joint List, said the party "does not accept" the four principles presented by Yashar Chairman Gadi Eisenkot during the election campaign and that "if he wants to establish a government relying on Arab votes, he must retract them." Yesterday, Eisenkot reiterated the principles he set: "Recognition of Israel as a Jewish, democratic, liberal and egalitarian state; commitment to the values of the Declaration of Independence; mandatory service for all Israeli citizens – military, national and civil; recognition of Hamas as a terrorist organization and the obligation to destroy its military-governmental power in the Gaza Strip." He added that so far no official approach has been received from Eisenkot.
