A U.S. federal appeals court has ruled that President Donald Trump can continue to enforce his tariff program on countries around the world, while a decision by the Court of International Trade from about two weeks ago is being reviewed - which determined that the president does not have legal authority to impose extensive global tariffs. The appeals court has not yet ruled whether the tariffs imposed by Trump are permitted under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which the president cited to justify them, but determined that they will remain in effect as long as appeals are still ongoing.
