The International Criminal Court in The Hague rejected Sudan's claim that the United Arab Emirates is committing genocide in the Darfur region of western Sudan. In a statement released by the UAE Deputy Foreign Minister, the allegations against the country were described as "false" and the court's decision was called clear and definitive. He added that "the fact that the court declared itself 'clearly lacking jurisdiction' regarding the case proves that it should never have been raised." Sudan petitioned the court in March against the UAE, which acted against the Masalit community who were opposing the RSF forces fighting against the Sudanese government.
