Lapid: 'On the eve of the holiday, I warn Israeli citizens – we are facing another security disaster'

|
Opposition Leader Yair Lapid issued a special statement in light of Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir's warnings in the cabinet, claiming that "whoever says now that 'we must not talk about dangers during wartime because it weakens us' has forgotten that the role of the security establishment is to warn before disaster strikes, not after." According to him, "The government will not be able to say this time 'I didn't know.' This is the chief of staff they appointed. On the eve of Passover, I want to warn Israeli citizens – we are facing another security disaster. The chief of staff reported to the cabinet that he no longer has a way to continue mobilizing reserves; that the regular forces are in complete collapse and the army does not have enough soldiers; and that he is being forced to transfer more and more forces to Judea and Samaria because of Jewish terrorism."
