Israel Police spokesperson authorized the publication that Yamam fighter, First Sergeant Major Itai Persson, is the young man whose body was found on a beach in Haifa. Persson, 23, from Haifa, is survived by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and a partner. His family has been notified. Persson enlisted in January 2023 for a pilot course and in August of that year transferred to mandatory service in the Border Police. After completing his training as a fighter, he continued on a specialized track for an undercover operatives course, after which he was assigned to the observation and drone team in the National Counter-Terrorism Unit (Yamam) of the Border Police. In December 2025, he enlisted for career service in the unit.
