The acting director general of the Prime Minister's Office was questioned under caution last week in the "money celebration" affair involving Social Equality Minister May Golan. She was questioned on suspicion of allegedly allowing the employment of one of Golan's advisers in an arrangement that did not follow regulations. The case involves suspicions that ministry employees were involved in obtaining goods by fraud, using public funds for private purposes, fictitious employment and concealing funding sources, while using NGOs and government systems as tools for illegally withdrawing funds. Minister Golan is suspected of accepting bribes under aggravating circumstances, fraud and breach of trust, and submitting a false affidavit.
