The Israeli delegation at the World Para Swimming Championships doubled its medal count from two to four. Ami Dadaon, who had already claimed two gold medals in the 100m freestyle and 50m breaststroke events, finished second in the 150m individual medley with a time of 2:28.90 minutes, earning a silver medal. Iyad Shalabi, a Paralympic medalist from Tokyo and resident of Shfaram, finished third in the 100m backstroke with a time of 2:40.20 minutes. Shalabi, who is mute and paralyzed in his lower limbs, returned to competition after more than a year's break, caused by a serious illness and then the death of his father.
