Representatives of reserve service organizations presented the new chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Boaz Bismuth, with their service outline and red lines regarding the conscription law. According to them, the main requirement of the outline is an unequivocal demand for full transparency, direct dialogue with the serving public and prevention of "rushed decisions" behind closed doors. "We will not allow the promotion of a law that strengthens draft evasion at the expense of those who bear the burden alone," the representatives said. "We will do everything necessary to prevent this." Bismuth told them that he "understands the magnitude of the responsibility" and is committed to passing "a good law, a real conscription law that will meet the security needs of the State of Israel."
