State Comptroller: Prime ministers, particularly Netanyahu, failed to complete emergency home front regulations

|
State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman published a report on the evacuation and absorption of the population following the October 7 massacre and pointed to a series of failures, some of which began many years before the war, others in the first hours after the attack - and additional ones that continued for months. "The failure to regulate treatment of the home front in emergency events was known to Israel's prime ministers, and advancing the national regulation and preparing the state in times of emergency were the responsibility of the prime ministers who served from the Second Lebanon War until the end of the audit, for more than 18 years - Mr. Olmert, Mr. Bennett, Knesset Member Lapid (for a very brief period) and particularly Knesset Member Netanyahu, who served as prime minister for 14 years intermittently, including during the terror attack on October 7 and during the 'Swords of Iron' war - but they did not complete the required national regulation for handling the home front in times of emergency," it stated.
