Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed in a post on X that "in coordination with the ceasefire in Lebanon, we announce the opening of passage through the Strait of Hormuz for all commercial vessels for the duration of the ceasefire." Araghchi's declaration comes despite the scattering of mines in the waters around the strait during the war, which caused commercial companies to avoid passing through it. Last week, the U.S. announced it had begun an operation to clear the mines from Hormuz.
