Shimon Alkabetz, former commander of the IDF radio station Galei Tzahal, said in an interview with the ynet studio regarding the decision to close the station that "not only should it not be closed, it can be fixed and the recommendations of the Zamir committee, of which I was a part, can be implemented. Currently, the only barrier left to prevent this move is the court." He added: "Former IDF chiefs of staff have talked about closing the station. We thought there's no need to do that, we just need to make corrections, ensuring that 80% of the programs on the station are related to soldiers and without political programs." Alkabetz, father of Sivan who was murdered on October 7, said about the decision to establish a political investigation committee that "even 100 soap dishes and a thousand shampoos or 200 washing machines won't succeed in cleaning any of those responsible at the political and military levels."
