The target price of milk rose this week from 2.4742 shekels per liter to 2.5158 shekels per liter, resulting in a 1.6% increase in raw milk prices. The target price is what dairy companies pay for milk at the farm gate. The price increase is due to the previous quarter's forecast that most cattle feed would become more expensive because of drought and low crop yields. The price increase will not affect dairy products whose prices are under government regulation.
