The Military Defense Office has appealed to State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman and Government Legal Advisor Gali Baharav-Miara, demanding to refrain from expanding the Comptroller's investigation of October 7 events. The appeal stated: "The State Comptroller is exceeding his authority in requesting to conduct an investigation into these matters. The authority to investigate these significant events, which in the Supreme Court's words constitute 'the greatest disaster in the history of approximately 150 years of Zionist Jewish settlement in Israel' - is reserved exclusively for a state commission of inquiry."
