France announced it will file a formal complaint against Iran at the International Court of Justice in The Hague over the unlawful detention of two French citizens, the country's Foreign Ministry reported. According to the complaint, France claims the citizens are being held in inhumane conditions and denied access to consular representatives. Iran, however, rejected these accusations. Iranian state television broadcast footage after their 2022 arrest showing them confessing to working for French intelligence, a claim France denied.
