After two one-sided victories by Oklahoma City Thunder to open the NBA Western Conference Finals series, it seemed they were heading for a clean sweep over Minnesota. However, the Timberwolves defeated them by 42 points with a score of 143:101, reducing the series deficit to 2-1. Minnesota led 34:14 at the end of the first quarter, and by halftime the gap grew to 72:41 with Thunder shooting just 30 percent from the field. After a 107:70 score at the end of three quarters, coach Mike Diegnault let his players rest for the remainder of the series.
