The Police Internal Investigations Department filed an indictment at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court against an officer for assaulting two 17-year-old teens in the city. According to the indictment, the officer, who served as a neighborhood sergeant, secured a Torah scroll ceremony in Jerusalem together with other officers. At some point, the defendant intervened in a dispute that erupted outside the hall where the event took place between one of the event organizers and the complainants, who came to demand their wages from him. Subsequently, the defendant approached one of the complainants and demanded that he identify himself. That complainant refused, and then the defendant forcefully struck him with his fists in the chest and ribs. Later, he even brought him down to the ground and continued to hit him in the head. Additionally, the defendant attacked and struck the other complainant when he tried to defend his friend.
