IDF lookouts identified a cell of at least two smugglers on the Egyptian border, deployed forces - and during the suspects' escape attempt, their vehicle overturned and one of them was killed. Another suspect managed to escape. The suspects were apparently attempting to smuggle drones. The IDF stated that "during an operation by IDF forces, lookouts identified suspects in the Egyptian border area, and after identification, forces were dispatched to the location. During the suspects' attempt to flee, their vehicle collided with the IDF vehicle and overturned. There are no casualties among our forces."
