Justice Minister Yariv Levin stated following the death of Be'er Sheva District Court President Benny Sagi in an accident that he "transformed the court early in his tenure into one that enjoys broad public trust." Levin added: "President Sagi was a brilliant jurist, an exceptional judge, beloved and respected by lawyers and litigants alike. President Sagi will be greatly missed by the judicial system in general, the Be'er Sheva District Court in particular and by me personally." President Isaac Herzog stated that "Judge Sagi was a brilliant and sharp-minded jurist, a tremendous judge who combined vast professional knowledge with exceptional integrity. He was known first and foremost as a man of values, humble and kind-hearted, who always saw the person standing before him and strived for peace and mediation. The judicial system has today lost one of its best sons and leaders."
