American software company Intuit has begun a wave of layoffs that includes employees at its R&D center in Israel. The company announced it will cut 3,000 positions worldwide, representing approximately 17% of its total workforce. According to the statement, the move is intended to simplify operations and sharpen focus on strategic priorities, primarily AI. The layoffs will affect the company's operations in Israel, where it employs approximately 500 people. Intuit CEO Sasan Goodarzi said in a message sent to employees that reducing complexities and simplifying the corporate structure will help the company deliver better products. The company has signed multi-year agreements with leading AI companies Anthropic and OpenAI to integrate their models into its financial products.
