Defense Minister Opposes IDF Chief: 'Decision to promote brigadier generals - without coordination and agreement'

|
Defense Minister Israel Katz came out against the announcement of appointments for brigadier generals in the IDF and said they "will not be approved." His office stated that "the placement discussion held today by the IDF Chief of Staff was conducted contrary to the Defense Minister's directive and without prior coordination and agreement, which is contrary to accepted procedure, and therefore the Defense Minister does not intend to discuss the appointments and names published or approve them. The Chief of Staff will be required to coordinate in advance with the Defense Minister to discuss these or other appointments in the future."
