Hundreds of demonstrators are blocking access roads to a complex in Kfar Saba where a Likud New Year's toast event is being held, which ministers and Knesset members from the party were invited to attend. Some protesters even managed to enter the building where the event is taking place. The demonstrators are also protesting against the planned appointment of David Zini as head of the Shin Bet security agency. They chanted: "You continue celebrating while the people and the state are collapsing. We will not allow a group of corrupt individuals to endanger Israel's security again. We refuse to let you hand the keys to our security to a group of dangerous messianists." The protesters claimed that Zini's appointment would constitute "the destruction of the Shin Bet as a gatekeeper in Israel."
