Teenagers and young adults who arrived last night at the village of Malk in the Benjamin area claim that the confrontation with security forces erupted after an IDF battalion commander who arrived at the scene got out of his vehicle and began firing in the air, shouting and threatening them. "The sector's battalion commander dismounted his vehicle and began firing live rounds over the heads of the young men, shouting at them to lie on the ground," they claimed. "When one of the men began filming the incident, the commander was documented stopping the recording while threatening them with his weapon. Afterward, the commander ceased using live fire and switched to firing riot dispersal grenades from a launcher. Throughout this time, no physical violence was committed by the residents."
