Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the disarmament of the "Kurdistan Workers' Party" (PKK) has begun, as the group is on its way to becoming a political entity after four decades of armed conflict with the state. "The terrorist infrastructure has entered its final phase," Erdogan said. "Today a new chapter has begun. We will not allow anyone to harm Turkey's dignity. We are doing everything for a Turkey without terror."
