The Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Transportation and Ministry of Finance announced that a supplementary international airport will be established in Tzikelag in the Negev, between Netivot and Rahat. This coming Sunday, the government will be asked to approve a decision to determine the location of the airport. The decision was coordinated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following a discussion he held with Transportation Minister Miri Regev, Deputy Minister Almog Cohen, Acting Director General of the Prime Minister's Office and senior officials from the Finance, Transportation and Defense ministries. "The establishment of a supplementary international airport is a national necessity in light of the continued increase in the number of flights to and from Israel," it was stated.
