Bissmuth slams IDF chief for warning of manpower shortage: 'Harms the war effort'

|
Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman MK Boaz Bissmuth lashed out at IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir over his warnings during yesterday's cabinet meeting about the IDF's manpower shortage. According to Bissmuth, who is promoting a bill to exempt ultra-Orthodox men from military service, "irresponsible statements about the 'collapse of the IDF' in the midst of a historic war are unprecedented and directly harm the war effort." He added, "This is dangerous conduct that weakens national resilience and provides ammunition to our enemies, who follow every word. This must stop immediately, and we must come together with responsibility and unity until the war objectives are completed."
