Report: In Washington talks, Lebanon to request month-long ceasefire extension

|
Lebanon is expected to request a month-long extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, as part of negotiations between the countries set to resume tomorrow in Washington. This was reported by the French news agency AFP. Meanwhile, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said in a meeting he held that 'contacts are underway to extend the ceasefire.' According to him, 'Preserving Lebanese sovereignty over all its territory is my primary goal. The negotiations currently being prepared are based on a complete cessation of Israeli attacks, an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, the return of prisoners (Lebanese), the deployment of the Lebanese army to the border and the beginning of rehabilitation efforts for what was destroyed in the war.'
