Daoud Shahab, spokesman for the Islamic Jihad organization which also holds several hostages, commented on Hamas' response to the ceasefire agreement, saying: "Hamas consulted with us regarding the ceasefire agreement. Its response is serious and responsible, and we are interested in advancing toward an agreement."
