Dollar Drops Further on Election Day, Shekel Hits 3-Week High

|
Continuing yesterday's trend, the shekel is strengthening on election day as well. The dollar weakened by about 2% and is trading around 3.02 shekels, its lowest level in three weeks. The euro fell even more, trading around 3.37 shekels. Cumulatively, the dollar has lost about 3% since Friday, when its representative rate stood at 3.11 shekels. The euro weakened even more during the same period, falling from a rate of 3.48 shekels. Thus, a significant portion of the dollar's gains over the past month have been erased within two days.
