Israeli basketball player Deni Avdija, who plays in the NBA; Gal Hamrani, captain of Israel's women's goalball team and champion in a unique Paralympic sport for the blind and visually impaired; and judo coach Oren Smadja, one of Israel's greatest athletes, lit the torch of 'Through Determination.' Avdija dedicated the torch 'to honor everyone who dreams big and takes action, who isn't afraid to fall and rise - because Israel is a land where dreams come true through heart and soul.' Hamrani lit the torch 'in the name of Paralympic athletes and the unstoppable spirit.' Smadja dedicated the torch 'to honor the wonderful people who stood behind me in every arena - and also in the most painful hour, when my family and I experienced a heavy loss.'
