Israeli basketball team visits Auschwitz: 'There is something unifying and moving about it'

|
The Israeli basketball team visited the Auschwitz and Birkenau death camps in Poland alongside preparations for their EuroBasket debut. During the tour, the players heard from the local guide about the atrocities that took place in the camp. Additionally, a Chabad emissary to Poland blew the shofar and the players listened to a reading of a chapter from Psalms for the return of the hostages. At the end of the tour, all the national team players and staff sang the national anthem. National team player Bar Timor later said, "It was a difficult and shocking visit on one hand, but being here with the Israeli national team, there is something unifying and moving about it."
