IDF: Commander of artillery in Imam Hussein Division operating alongside Hezbollah eliminated

The IDF announced it eliminated Kamal Melhem, commander of artillery in the Imam Hussein Division, which operates in Lebanon alongside Hezbollah but is also affiliated with Iran. The military said he was eliminated in a strike on a main headquarters belonging to the organization, and that he was involved in procuring combat equipment and in an additional capacity served as chief of staff to the division commander. The Imam Hussein Division is composed of thousands of operatives with various citizenships from across the Middle East and was established in 2016, under the command of Qasem Soleimani, former commander of the Quds Force who was eliminated in an American airstrike in Baghdad in 2020. In addition, Asrar Baqri, commander of Unit 840 in the Quds Force, who was wanted for years by the U.S., was also eliminated.
