Peru: Former President Fujimori's daughter to run for presidency for fourth time

|
Keiko Fujimori, the daughter of former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori, announced she will run for presidency in the upcoming April elections, days after the country's constitutional court dismissed a money laundering case against her. Fujimori has competed in the last three presidential elections in Peru, finishing second in each. This will be Fujimori's first campaign since her father's death in September 2024, months after he received a pardon and was released from prison, having served 16 years of a 25-year sentence for human rights violations during his tenure from 1990 to 2000.
