"These steps are consistent with decisions recently taken by our allies, including Britain and the U.S., following the efforts of the Syrian transitional government to promote Syria's stability, build a secure future for its citizens and work alongside global partners to strengthen regional stability and fight terrorism," the Canadian government said.
