The Canadian government announced that it has removed Syria from the list of states supporting terrorism, and the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham organization, which overthrew former Syrian President Bashar Assad under the command of current President Ahmed al-Shara, from the list of terrorist organizations. "These steps are consistent with decisions recently taken by our allies, including Britain and the U.S., following the efforts of the Syrian transitional government to promote Syria's stability, build a secure future for its citizens and work alongside global partners to strengthen regional stability and fight terrorism," the Canadian government said.
