Man to be charged with assaulting elderly woman and throwing objects at people in Jerusalem shelter

|
A prosecutor's statement before filing an indictment was submitted against a 49-year-old man from Tel Aviv for assaulting an elderly woman, smashing bus windows and committing an indecent act in front of a police officer. The man was arrested last week on suspicion of involvement in a series of serious violent incidents in Jerusalem, including violently stealing a mobile phone from an elderly woman, causing her facial injury and a fracture. Subsequently, according to the suspicion, he threw a stone at a bus and smashed its windows, endangering the safety of the bus passengers. The investigation also revealed that during an air raid siren that sounded in the area, the suspect arrived at a public shelter where residents were staying, began violently throwing objects at them and threatened them. Upon his arrest, the suspect spat at a police officer and also committed an indecent act in front of her.
