Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Idan Shtivi is the hostage casualty who was returned alongside Ilan Weiss during the special IDF and Shin Bet operation in the Gaza Strip. "After completing the identification process at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, permission was given this evening to publish the news of his return to Israel," Netanyahu stated. "Together with all the people of Israel, my wife and I send our heartfelt condolences to the Shtivi family. I again express my appreciation to the IDF and Shin Bet for their determined and courageous action."
