The incoming Commander of the Air Force, Maj. Gen. Omer Tischler, spoke at the Air Force change of command ceremony and said: "The war began on the dark day of October 7 with a searing military failure. I will carry the failure of that Saturday with me forever." According to him, "We will continue to act to implement all the lessons learned from the October 7 investigation. We will not allow enemies to grow stronger on our borders. We are closely monitoring what is happening in Iran and are prepared to take the entire Air Force eastward, should it be required."
