The government approved the national housing plan led by Housing Minister Haim Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, worth about 1.4 billion shekels. The program budget was cut in half after a housing plan worth about 3 billion shekels was submitted in July. The main components of the plan: Incentivizing construction in the periphery by increasing development cost subsidies amounting to 750 million shekels, encouraging local authorities with population growth and expanding housing supply worth 300 million shekels, strengthening urban renewal at 250 million shekels and streamlining worker recruitment processes for the construction industry worth 60 million shekels.
