The Knesset's National Security Committee approved advancing the death penalty bill for terrorists, which is expected to be voted on in its first reading in the plenum this week. One of the bill's sponsors, MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beiteinu), noted that "this is not a tool for achieving revenge but a deterrent tool." Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf responded: "I am not afraid of the word revenge. I think it has a very important part."
