Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Liberman claimed that Israel secretly transferred funds and weapons to crime families in the Gaza Strip with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's approval. In an interview with Reshet Bet, Liberman said that "the weapons are going to criminals and offenders who turn them against Israel." The Prime Minister's Office responded to Liberman's statements, saying that "Israel is working to defeat Hamas through various and diverse means as recommended by all heads of the security establishment."
