The Lod District Court has sentenced Israel Hakak to 18 years in prison for running over and killing Eyal Yehuda and Maor Moshe Ben David on the Coastal Highway on October 6, 2023, near Udim community. A month after the incident, which occurred a day before the Hamas massacre and was called the "October 6 murder," an indictment was filed against Hakak for murder with indifference, hit-and-run and assaulting a police officer. According to the charges, Hakak chased motorcycle rider Eyal Yehuda, swerved sharply between lanes, hit him twice and fled. During the impact, he also ran over and killed pedestrian Maor Moshe Ben David.
