Ohana vs. Herzog: The judiciary trampled the Knesset, it does not receive an honorary invitation

|
Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana (Likud) attacked President Isaac Herzog, who criticized the exclusion of the Supreme Court President and the Attorney General from U.S. President's speech in the Knesset. "It is unfortunate that the President expects only one branch to be 'statesmanlike' and follow the rules while another branch tramples it without authority and contrary to law," said Ohana, who claimed that "the judiciary has placed itself above the people and above democracy by invalidating a Basic Law, an unprecedented move in the State of Israel that nullifies the majority decision - and during wartime. Those who trample the Knesset with their decisions cannot expect an honorary invitation from it."
