Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that "The IDF continues its operations in Gaza at full force, striking and dismantling Hamas strongholds." According to him, "We are committed first and foremost to protecting our heroic soldiers, both regular and reserve, above all other considerations. After neutralizing terrorists and clearing the area, the IDF removes all threats following the Rafah model - and maintains its position." Minister Katz added: "This is how we will achieve our war objectives: releasing all hostages while defeating Hamas. Hamas murderers will have to choose: accept the terms of the 'Witkoff deal' for releasing the hostages - or face destruction."
