Balad Chairman Sami Abu Shahadeh, who was placed third on the Joint List, officially notified the Knesset Central Elections Committee that he is resigning from the party of his own free will. The announcement came after the Supreme Court discussed disqualifying his candidacy, during which Chief Justice Yitzhak Amit recommended that he announce his withdrawal, thereby sparing the justices from making a decision on the matter, as he claimed there was a majority in favor of disqualification.
