The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health ordered the suspension of classes for the next 24 hours at the Social High School and Arazim School, located near the Haifa refineries complex, following abnormal concentrations of a flammable and toxic compound known as benzene in the area. In addition, the ministries recommend that the population within a range of up to one kilometer from the refineries avoid staying outdoors unnecessarily.
