The U.S. military announced it has completed the latest round of strikes against targets in Iran. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces used "precision munitions" to attack command centers, air defense systems, missile sites, drones and coastal surveillance facilities at several locations, including the city of Bandar Abbas in the Strait of Hormuz region. The operation was intended, according to the U.S. military, to degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial vessels in the strait. Earlier, a first wave of strikes lasting an hour and a half was carried out against coastal defense facilities and cruise missile sites on Tunb Island.
