Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in his speech at the UN General Assembly that "this is not the first time we are under threat of annihilation. In 1967, Israel was surrounded by enemies who swore to eliminate us. Back then, we were not in Judea and Samaria, we were not in Gaza." Netanyahu continued, responding to Syrian President al-Sharaa: "We were not in the Golan Heights then – Mr. al-Sharaa, you should know that Jews have been in the Golan Heights since the days of Moses.
