Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana continued his criticism of the judicial system in his speech at the opening of the Knesset session, stating that "there is no other authority in the democratic world that operates without any checks and balances - except for the Israeli judicial system." According to him, "there is no other place in the democratic world where there is an authority whose power is infinite and unlimited - because 'everything is justiciable' - and always has the final word, except for the Israeli judicial system." Ohana said that compromises had been proposed several times to fix the relationship between the branches of government, but "the judicial system refuses to engage in dialogue or agree to compromises, even the most moderate ones."
