The police prosecution unit has filed charges against Liliana Leniado (70), a resident of Bat Yam, who prevented residents from entering a shelter during sirens during Operation "With a Lion's Heart." According to the indictment, on June 22, residents of a neighboring building sought to enter the shelter because their building lacked one, but Leniado stood at the entrance and prevented them from entering, claiming there was no room in the shelter. She eventually closed the shelter door, leaving the residents outside. The indictment charges her with an offense under the Civil Defense Law, which prohibits preventing entry to a shelter during a home front emergency.
