Knesset again cancels Smotrich's order to expand tax exemption on imports up to $130

The Knesset plenum canceled for the second time Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's order to expand the tax exemption on personal imports to $130. As a result, the VAT exemption amount on packages in personal imports has returned to $75. Twenty-three Knesset members supported approving the order, compared to 59 who opposed its approval. In February, the Knesset canceled the first order on the matter signed by Smotrich, which instructed the increase of the exemption to $150.
